Gluing increased safety
🚗 When buying a new car, customers pay attention to the exterior, but especially to the interior, becase this is where we spend an average of 4 years of our lives. In all this beauty and aesthetics, safety should not be forgotten. In today’s publication, we focus on how to install various small elements in a vehicle generally referred to as “jewelry,” for example: dashboard decorative elements such as chrome rings around the air vents, manufacturer’s emblems or door trims.
💡 Crash tests have shown that decorative elements mounted only with snaps can crack or chip during an accident. Sharp, chipping plastic components pose a potential risk of additional injury to the driver and vehicle passengers. With bonded components, this risk is eliminated. Damaged by an accident, chrome rings or other decorative elements remain in place.
🔸 It is worth mentioning that for the application of adhesives to elements with easy and consistent surfaces, manually operated devices are used, there is no need to apply along a fixed repetitive path (e.g. steering wheel emblems). On the other hand, the situation changes when we have to deal with more complex shapes, then it is recommended to use industrial robots (e.g., chrome frames located around displays).
